These thoughts ensue, I can not subdue, A firestorm inside, Why? Why? Why? I am not the person I knew.
Drawn battle lines, Opposition of my mind, Lost in a fight, I did not incite, All of this in me confined.
Contentious war zone, Intense agony alone, Unable to estop, Stop! Stop! Stop! Soul in a seething cauldron.
Entangled conflict, Twist reason and heart afflict, Bombarded senses contend. A question of who will win, A struggle I can not evict.
I turn to help in prayer, a fight too great to bear, What am I to expect? I unload on Him direct, I cry to my Savior.
Defense positions sheer, Walls fracture and edges tear, Wall of tears begin to fall, Within the spirit I see it all, To break free fully aware.
My greatest warrior of peace, Decreed my raging war to cease, I replaced a war with His rest, In this hope I am blessed, In Jesus Christ I found release.
