I want to do at least one deed
That proves my love for You
For all that You have given me
It’s the least that I can do
If I can make just one step
That causes others to love Your name
It’d be worth whatever the cost
Though not repaid by fame
If I can use this time You gave
To me to do Your will
Then Lord, I pray You’ll show me how
You want that time to fill
Use me Lord, in such a way
That will serve Your master plan
And let everything that I do
Be guided by Your hand
I want to make a difference, Lord
A difference You can see
‘Cause I know if there is a change
That it must start with me
Oh, Lord, there is so much work to be done! It’s hard to even really grasp the people that are still to be reached in Your name. There are so many who still do not know You, that are hurting, that are overwhelmed, that are confused, and that simply are longing for a change in their life.
I know, Lord, that it is up to those of us who know You already to offer a hand to those who don’t. I know that it is up to those of us whom You have given comfort to give a little bit of it to someone else who is in need now. And even though there are days when we still feel overwhelmed or confused, it is up to us to share what we know about You, Your promises, and the guiding words that You left us to others.
I’m afraid that so often I have been guilty of holding back a word that I felt I should speak, or did not do something that I felt led to do because I was afraid that others might judge me to be in no position to say or do anything for someone else given my own set of circumstances. But Lord, I know now that if we wait for the moment to come when we are perfect, know everything about You that can possibly be known or have our lives altogether, then we will be in Your kingdom and it will be too late for any of the work that You need to have done here to actually be done.
And maybe helping others will help us as well. Maybe in the process of offering the map to someone else, we will find the direction You are wanting us to travel.
Thank You, Lord, for being able to use me even in those times when I don’t feel very usable. Thank You for making me a part of Your plan without requiring perfection first. Thank You for the changes that we are about to see. In myself and others.
I Love You, Lord.
