Can We Be Too Earthly Minded To Be Any Heavenly Good?

Jesus mentioned many who were too earthly minded, but the one that I will mention is the rich man.

Jesus confronted him with his sins and pointed out the one that gave him the most trouble, “Can you give up your earthly (fleshly) desires for God?

It is the first and greatest commandment, “ To Love God above everything and everybody else”

What gets in the way of Loving God above all else?

Wanting to possess things (that in reality belong to God anyway) and to have control over our own lives and over other people’s lives.

God made those who choose to belong to Him, stewards, not owners.

God is to be the only Ruler over those who choose to belong to Him.

Those who belong to God and are fellow heirs with Christ, should be Heavenly minded. They will then be good representatives of God's Will for our lives.
