From beyond the celestial canopy
of a zillion stars or more,
to the awesome, still and fathomed depths
of the darkened ocean floor;
above the highest mountain peaks,
to the earth's very molten core...
God's love for you is at the very least this....
this, and so much more!
More numerous than the points of light
that adorn the heavens so grand;
more plentiful yet than all of the world's
single grains of sand....
surpassing the count of human hairs
down to each single strand,
the endless supply of His forgiveness
as He cradles you in His hands.
Oh how rich are we in His mercy...
how can we respond to such love?
For the Creator of all to set aside glory
and come down from Heaven above.
Glory incarnate in human flesh,
marked with the sign of a dove...
this Godman Jesus bought our redemption
'tis His blood salvation's made of.
So friend take note... Heaven's not gained
through the good things in life we may do,
only repentence and coming to Jesus
will obtain redemption for you;
for He is indeed one with the Father...
the only way that is true,
and submission to Him's the pathway to glory
sought out by the blest and the few.

Your poem paints a beautiful and powerful image of God's unbounded love. I could feel my soul stretching. It is a lovely, well-written poem. After the 3rd reading (every poem deserves at least 3 reads), rhyme and meter seemed nearly perfect to me. Well done!
This was a treat for my heart and soul Dennis.
Please keep writing as it helps your brothers and sisters and no doubt brings delight to our Heavenly Father.
Dennis, what a beautiful poem. The first stanza in particular is just glorious. My only query would be whether that "this" should be at the end of the second last line of the first stanza? Other than that though, I thought this was a really beautiful way to start my day - giving glory to God! With love, Deb
