He walks unseen among the crowd leaving a trail of death behind him, carrying “two chapters”, silently, stalking me. I see his face through the crowded chamber where I crouch behind some smiling guests. We slowly shuffle into adjacent rooms where other people dance together wearing multicolored balloons. I can see them giving joyous expressions to their partner’s first impression.
Then out of the corner of my eye,
he appears before me,
reading from the chapters in his fabricated book, twisting Gods word that the world mistook.
Softly speaking Latin with a voice craving pain, causing my heart to bleed cold like winters rain. Though his words have a ring of Holy Scripture, his evil fortune paints a worthless picture.
A subtle twist makes all the difference,
O’ prince of darkness your words deceive!
You twist Gods word for your own increase and people shall follow as little lost sheep.
These walking dead to hell with you follow.
Spiritless souls their flesh and mind hollow.
Yet, I shall wear Gods impenetrable armor standing against this devil’s harbor.
His voice grows weak as he turns in haste
I stare into his smiling face and cry out,
“No evil shall I fear, I serve the Lord Christ, get behind me Satan, be gone from my sight!”
As a shadow in darkness,
he disappears from the room,
while his misinformed guests yet
dance to his tune.
Late last night as I lay sleeping
Into my dreams
God's light came creeping
Piercing through a tiny hole
Shinning upon my shadowed soul
A vision of glory yet behold
Heaven flashes in fear they run
Truth cracks open from the Son
Time surrounds Gods cycle four
The beast knocks wildly at the door
I thought I heard a child crying yet awoke to find this devil smiling
He wants to swallow up my soul, so let him follow me although
I shall never walk with sin, he shall knock yet not get in
His crown of gold fades away, polished stones smash toes of clay
I am deaf to his twisted chapters, let him shout his breath he waste
When Michael cast him into the pit, he then will see my spirits face
