I don’t know about tomorrow
or what the future will be.
It is far out of my reach
and it is not promised to me.

I cannot see my tomorrow
it is not within my sight.
I may not ever experience it
though I try with all my might.

Tomorrow is very uncertain
it is far away in time.
I only know about the present
and that this day is mine.

I cannot control tomorrow
it is not in my power you see.
I lay no claim on the future
for it is not promised to me.

Tomorrow is as yesterday
out in the distance somewhere.
It rests in the hand of God
and is neither here or there.

I will not wait for tomorrow
In case it doesn’t come.
Today I have much living to do
and I’ve got a race to run.

So if I should miss tomorrow
there would have been today.
So I will leave my footprints
for I may not get back this way.
