Israel learned first hand what it was for a gap to erupt in their relationship with Yahweh. The world also knows what happened. Even today, many see Israel as still separated by this gap from Yahweh. For Christians, though, we have believed in the Son of God, Messiah Yeshua. The gap was there for us as well, till we were reunited by faith in Christ. Scripture plainly states that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. This verse in Romans 3:3 relates the truth of about men today. They are sinners and separated from God. Both Jew and Gentile are in the same situation.
Isaiah 58:12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
This gap is known as a breach. For the Children of Israel, they had failed to perform their part of the covenant God had made with them. Their obligation to serve Yahweh and do as he says brought about this breach. As a result of this breach, God became an opposing faction to the children of Israel. Even today, there is a breach between man and God. This breach is the same for Jew and Gentile, male and female. The children of men want to go about doing as they please, while the Lord has the final say in all man does.
God sent his son to die on the cross. This death and the following resurrection, then ascension to the right hand of God sealed the breach. For all who would believe, then turn from their ways and follow the Lord in obedience, there would no longer be a breach. The former separation between the man and his God would be gone forever. Provided, of course, they followed in obedience and discipleship to the known will of God.
Today the breach has been repaired in many lives. The Lord of Glory specializes in re-united God with man. The breach of sin, rebellion, hatred, drug abuse, alcoholism, or any number of things is repaired in Christ, which is done away with. God specializes in forgiving the sinner, blotting out the transgressions against you, and then healing those things in your life that are bringing you down. I tell you the truth, God is in the repair business. He loves to bring men, women, and children into a firm relationship with Him.
The breach today for many is still in need of repair. God waits for you to get to that point of asking him to help you. Are you in need today? Seek the Lord, ask His help? Be re-united with your God. By faith, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, his birth, death on the cross for your sins, and his resurrection, then ascension to the right hand of God. Then turn from your former ways and follow the Lord in obedience. The Lord says if you love him “you will keep his commands”. This is the known obedience to God, repenting of your sins, being healed of that sin by the Lord, then finding his grace to walk in obedience.
This is more than just a head nod at what it means to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a relationship with the living and True God. If you will seek him with all your heart, then he will be found of you. Then He will work in your life. Many lives have been transformed with the True and living God revealed Himself to those who truly are seeking Him. When you do this, seek the Lord with all you have, then you will find out what it means to be restored. To have the Son of God, Messiah Y’SHUA, repair the breach, that separation between you and your God, this is true restoration.
I have seen the Lord restore people from many walks of life. He has brought them from the selfish pride of man to the God centered love that man was intended to follow. The love of God which flowed at Calvary for all men is the same love that will fill your heart when you have been restored to your God. Today the numbers are endless of former alcoholics, drug abusers, sex addicts, homosexuals, thieves, and any number of people that have found a new life because of the breach being healed.
Today we have so many churches it is hard to count them, each one with their own brand of religious doctrine. But I tell you the truth, God did not come and repair the breach for man to destroy it all by separations. These separations are known as denominations or fellowships. The truth is that man in America has done a good job of screwing up what God created. Now the Holy Spirit is healing the breach of the divided church. God is not coming back for a church of bricks or stones. He is not fascinated by our glistening crosses in fine church structures. He is not enamored by our rich designs in glasswork or our art in the buildings we worship in. If we do not walk in obedience, love, and discipleship, the breach that happened to Israel will happen to the church.
This kind of a breach is called rebellion and idolatry. It is when man in churches and religion, like the children of Israel decide they know best instead of God. I believe as well this breach has already occurred in this nation. Thus, the breach is put up, bringing a wall between our God and us.
Moreover, God will send the “smelter of the Lord” in the “land of the Free”. This smelter will again repair this man made breach. God will have a church, one that is made of a pure heart, not stones or brick. God will have his people love one another and those around them, as God loved us. This will come as a result of a purging fire that burns out the impurities within us. I challenge you today to seek the Lord and pray for the church. God is uniting a people unto himself, one that is Jew and Gentile, male and female. One united in love, serving the True and living God. Are you going to be part of that church?
Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
