Jesus went up a high mountain and there He was glorified in the presence of three of His disciples [Matthew 17]. When He returned to the other disciples, He found them, the crowd awaiting to feed their eyes on another miraculous work, and some waiting desperately for Him to come and meet their diverse needs. But before Christ returned, one personality had disappeared from the scene; faith!
Jesus wondered how soon faith has disappeared from this faithless and perverse generation, having been away from them for not up to a day He spent in the place of temporary glory. He remembered this scene as He was preparing to leave the earth for heaven where He came from, having accomplished His mission here, and put the question to the disciples; "When the Son of man comes, shall He find faith?" [Luke 18:8].
Jesus has ascended into the place of His glory for almost twenty centuries now, yet the world has not stopped crying "faith! faith!" Don't you sit back atimes and wonder if that is the faith Jesus is talking about? Do we perceive the faith of the Christ of God in hearts that yearn for more of things without eternal value or relevance? Do you discern it in brainless heads that have proved to be destitute of the wisdom that comes from God alone? Christ must have been a lair, had all these been the faith of the Christ of God.
Of a truth, when Jesus comes, He will not find faith in the earth. Not even a grain of it, for this earth is simply and absolutely faithless! Whatever is not of the "See, touch, and feel" category is of no relevance to the earth and its own. But the goodnews to as many of us as have come to trust in the faith of Christ Jesus unto the salvation of our souls is that, when the Son of man comes, He will find faith in the Church. Perhaps, you have been taught all your life that He will not, do you forget His word which says the gate of hell will not prevail over His Church; the foundation of which is laid on the solid Rock?
Jesus comes quickly, according to His own words of promise to the weary bride. He will return and find the earth as faithless as He left it.The question is "where will He meet you when He comes?" If He meets you in the Church, you will soar with Him in the sky on the wings of faith. But if it is in the midst of the world that He meets you, you will be condemned with the world;for those of the world will live by the things in the world[lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life]; things which are not of the Father, but of the devil. There are a lot of people who have been deceived by the lusts of their own hearts into believing that today's social gatherings we called church is what the King of glory left His glory in heaven to die for here on earth. He would have died in vain!
Are you in the Church of which Christ Himself is the builder? Do you have the experience of His being alive in fellowship with your spirit? The door is still open for those who care to secure a place of rest for their soul after this evil world. The Church of Christ will not run short of faith along the way to glory. Find yourslf a place in the Church of Christ Jesus and be rest assured, even from here. Behold, He comes quickly!
