It’s hard to believe that the years are passing so quickly. Just when one starts, it seems that it is already ending. Time is flying by quickly. Everyone is always in such a hurry with a long “to do” list. Myself, included.
Do you make New Year’s Resolutions every year? Was it the same list that you made last year? Did it include things that you wanted to change or goals that you desired to achieve? Only this year, you vowed to do much better? I think that everyone could say “yes” to that one.
In thinking about my list, two scriptures came to mind as
I was pondering what to add or
change. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.(KJV) Seeking God first is the only way to achieve the determination to stick with my resolutions. Making sure that they are for His glory.
Psalms 37:4 says Delight thyself also in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.(KJV) And I thought, a desire to stick to this list!
But, even deeper than that, He reminded me that the desire of His heart is us. He so wants to have a deep intimate loving relationship with you. To take care of you and to give you the desires of your heart. If His heart’s desire is you and me, then shouldn’t we make Him the DESIRE OF OUR HEARTS?
It's a new year and time to start with a new beginning. So this year I am resolving to spend more time in intimate prayer, Bible Study and Ministry. Then everything else will fall into place according to His will. How about you? Start by making dates with Jesus, just as you would anyone else. I guarantee you He will show up! Then watch what will happen! Wow! Glory to Jesus!
