"What If ..."
Serving the Lord is so worthwhile! He amazes me day after day.
I just keep fallin' in love with Him over and over again (as the song goes).
Don't get me wrong. My life isn't a bed of roses, but when you live for God, He will open up doors that you never imagined possible.
I'm just me ... Paulette. But with the God of the universe residing inside of me, possibilities are endless.
I don't have to focus on trials, problems, or everyday stresses. They are small in comparison to the God I serve.
Don't give in to depression (from one who has been there). Don't give in to self-pity. (Yep, been there, too!)
Life's storms are nothing (and more are brewing on the horizon) when you have an unstoppable, immovable, unshakable Anchor like I have to cling to. You cannot sink unless you want to.
When floods come -- float!
Here are some thoughts for you to ponder:
What if God decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn't follow Him today?
What if God couldn't take the time to bless us today because we didn't take the time to thank Him yesterday?
What if we never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when God sent the rain?
What if God didn't walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as His day?
What if God took away the Bible tomorrow because we would not read it today?
What if God took away His message because we failed to listen to the Messenger?
Think about this ...
What if God didn't send His only begotten Son because He wanted us to be prepared to pay the price for sin?
What if the door of the church was closed because we did not open the door of our heart?
What if God stopped loving and caring for us because we failed to love and care for others?
What if God would not hear us today because we do not listen to Him?
What if God answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?
What if God met our needs the way we give Him our lives?
Do your days begin like this?
Even though I clutch my blanket and growl when the alarm clock buzzes, thank you, Lord, that I can hear. There are many who are deaf.
Even though I keep my eyes closed against the morning light as long as possible, thank you, Lord, that I can see. I'm often blind to things that are right in front of me.
Even though I huddle in my bed and put off rising, thank you, Lord, that I have the strength to rise. There are many who are bedridden. (Visit them!)
Even though my breakfast table never looks like the picture in magazines and the menu is most times unbalanced, thank you, Lord, for the food I have. There are many who are hungry (right here in America!).
Even though the routine of my job often is monotonous, thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to work. There are many who have no job.
Even though I grumble and bemoan my fate from day to day and wish my circumstances were not so modest, thank you, Lord, for life.
God's mercy and patience and long-suffering and kindness with mankind truly amaze me. Do you know why He is all these things?
Here's why:
"God is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because He doesn't want anyone lost. He's giving everyone space and time to change." (II Peter 3:9, The Message Bible)
There are no hopeless situations, only people who think hopelessly.
