What does it mean, what is confession? If you were a criminal and you were being held at the police station and they were looking for a confession, what are they looking for? They will relate to you a series of facts and they will ask you is that you?
They want you out of your own mouth to say yes, that’s me.
What does confession mean? It means to own up and to say the same thing as.
Now many of us know confession in the negative sense, confessing your sins, what are you doing you are owning up to your sins and saying, “yes that was me, I did that” and you are receiving God’s forgiveness.
Confession means to say the same thing as, confessing God’s word means to say the same thing that God’s word says about you.
God now sees you in a certain way because of Jesus and God wants you to walk in what he has already seen and provided for you, but you can only walk in it if you walk in the word, confessing or agreeing with the word
Heb 3:1 consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus;
One of Jesus ministries is to be our high priest, or to represent us before the father, but look here at what he is the apostle and high priest of…our confession.
Jesus high priestly work is directly related to our confession.
Heb 4:14, Heb 10:21-23
Rom 10:9-10 How did we get into Christ? By confessing with our mouth and believing in our heart…
Col 2:6 So continue in him. If that is what was needed to enter this life of faith how much more if we want to continue in it.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
How does it work?
Gen I we see God speaking the world’s into existence. God gave man the same ability to speak words as he has.
Rom 4:17 God calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Eph 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. We are to imitate God like children imitate their fathers.
Charles Capps use to say “you cannot call the dog if he is not here. You need to call the cat and hopefully the dog will come”.
You may say that that is foolish, if you want the dog you need to call the dog, but when we get over in the realm of the spirit we get all spiritual, but why is it any different.
Jesus said Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
You need to believe before you see them, before they exist basically.
When we look back at the creation we see God looking into the darkness and calling the light into existence. God believed that what he said would come to pass and it did.
Rom 10:8-10 Here again is the principle, we have the word, we need to believe it and speak it.
2 Cor 4:13 I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
Mark 11:22-23 whosoever shall say unto this mountain, those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Have the faith of God and what ever you say shall come to pass.
Examples: 1 Kings 17:1,Num 13:30,14:24,Josh 14:6ff, Mark 5:31,
Phile 1:6 The communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
How do you acknowledge every good thing that is in you? You begin to say it with your mouth.
