The Unsung Hero is the one
Who needs no recognition.
Because he understands that,
Life’s not about fame or position.
He’s learned that service is key
And puts other people first,
As he strives to be
In God’s Word,
he hungers and thirsts.
‘Do unto others, Jesus said,
As you’d have them do unto you.
Make sure they are warm and fed
And I will care for you too.’
This is what God’s promises hold
So The Unsung Hero sings,
As he pulls yet,
another from the cold,
And wraps him in
warm, cozy things.
A smile lingers on
the face of the stranger
Taken in off the street,
Surrounded in warmth;
Out of danger
The Unsung Hero,
He was fortunate to meet.
“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ Matthew 25:40 (NLT)
