If It Wasn’t For You- By Janice Ferenz Fitzpatrick
If It wasn’t for You
There’d be no Christ In Christmas
No star to shine in the sky
If it wasn’t for You
There’d be no wise men seeking
No angels singing on High
If it wasn’t for You
There’d be no hope for tomorrow
No joy to find in each day
If it wasn’t for You
There’d be no intercessor
No one to hear us pray….
Chorus:
Oh you could have said, “No”
"The price is too great
To be born in a world
Of rejection and hate"
You could have said, ”No”
"I won’t die on the cross"
But You gave of yourself
My gain was your loss…
If it wasn’t For You
There’d be no point of Christmas
No card or gift could compare
If it wasn’t for You
there’d be no life eternal
no promise in glory to share
If it wasn’t for You
There’d be no pardon for our sin
No precious blood to atone
If it wasn’t for You
There’d be no Comforter so
We wouldn’t walk alone…
Chorus:
Oh you could have said, “No”
"The price is too great
To be born in a world
Of rejection and hate"
You could have said, ”No”
"I won’t die on the cross"
But You gave of yourself
My gain was your loss…
Last part-(sang softly and fade out)
If it wasn’t for You
Oh if it wasn’t for love…
For me….

I really like this, Janice. I could hear it being sung as I read along. It's anointed of God, and it touched my heart. The chorus is powerful in this piece. So much so, that I would love to hear it again, after the second stanza. God bless you.
I like the song lyrics and it looks like it's written with the beat and verse, chorus that can be put to music easily . Do you have someone to collaborate with for music? Lovely words.
This is great Janice! Really good flow, and I could picture this as a song. Would love to be able to hear it.
Loved the words. Hope you join The Challenge soon!
I especially like this part: Oh you could have said, “No”
"The price is too great
To be born in a world
Of rejection and hate"
You could have said, ”No”
"I won’t die on the cross"
But You gave of yourself
My gain was your loss…
Janice, as I read this song I could almost hear the beautiful music these lyrics carry with them! Reading your poetry has blessed me this morning. Thank you!
