Strongholds Are Coming Down
Feb. 16, 2005
Last year I felt like I need to study on Strong Holds coming down. There are a lot of different strong holds out there. And some we do not even consider them a strong hold. I will name the strong holds latter on in this study but right now I want to go
2nd Corinthians 10:3-6
"For though we walk in the flesh, we donít war after the flesh: For the weapon of our warfare is not carnal, but might through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and very high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."

Carnal- Greek word is; (Sarkikos)=pertaining to flesh. Covers the entire domain of our fallen nature made subject to vanity in which sin springs up, and moves soulish.

The Amplified Bible for 2nd Corinthians 10:3-6 reads like this,
"For though we walk(live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds. [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasoningís and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, [as a church] are fully secured and complete."

These two scriptures are word a like in some areas and some areas they are word different but the message they are getting out is still the same. So matter what we are not fighting against humans we are fighting the powers of darkness and the devil. Let us go on to see what Godís word has to say more about Strongholds

Ephesians 6:13
"Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

In this scripture there is something that God has ask us to put on? He said to put the Whole Armor of God on. He wants us to put this Armor on every morning. If you want to know what the Whole Armor of God is read Ephesians 6:10-20 this scripture will tell you about the Armor of God.

1st Thessalonians 5:8
"But let up, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation."

In this scripture there are two things that describe the breastplate and the helmet.
1.Faith and Love [breastplate]
2.The hope of Salvation [helmet]

1st Timothy 1:18
This charge I commit unto thee. Son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightiest war a good warfare.

Here are some scriptures to look on your on time:
2nd Timothy 2:3
Acts 7:22
1stCorinthians 2:5
2nd Corinthians 6:7 & 13:3-4

There are a lot of scriptures to look up and read so I will give you most of them. But I will let you look up a few your selves.

1st Corinthians 3:19
"For it written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

Ephesians 6:10
"Finally, my brethren, be greatness of his power to us ward who believe, according to the work of his mighty power."

When we fight in a spiritual war we are not fighting against flesh. Fighting a spiritual battle is were we have to know our place in Christ. Because if we don't the devil and the demons will run all our us. So, to fight in the spiritual war we have to know what to have on and know what scriptures are to use against the devil.

12 Commands For Us

1. Be strong in the Lord

2. Be strong in His power.

3.Put the whole armour of God

5.Have our loins girted with truth.

6.Put on the breastplate of righteousness.

7.Our feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace.

8.Take the shield of faith.

9.Take the helmet of salvation.

10.Take the sword of the Spirit.

11.Pray in the Spirit.

12.Watch in prayer.

The twelve things listed here is what a Christian should be doing all the time. Just not when we are in battle but all the time.

The Greek word for Strong is (Endunamoo) and it means to acquire strength.

How do we acquire strength in the spirit?
B.Reading the Word of God
C.Meditate on his word.
E.Speak Godís word.

Ephesians 6:11
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Armour is Greek for (Panoplia)-full armour of a heavily armed soldier.

When a soldier goes out to war, they donít put half of there armour on. NO, they put the whole thing. That is including their guns or what other kind of weapon they may use. That is the same with spiritual warfare. We have to put the whole armour on. We just can't put half on and say we are ready to fight. It dose not work that way. But I will say this that there are days that I donít put the whole armour and then there are days that I just have part on. God did not tell us to put half the armour, he said, ďThe Whole Armour.Ē

Romans 13:12
"The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armour of light."

God is saying night is gone and day has come, so take of the darkness of the night and put on the light of day. Why would we want to keep the darkness around at all. Darkness needs to gone when we tell it to.

Three Great Blessings of the Armour of God

1.Ability to stand against all enemies.

2.Ability to withstand all attacks.

3.Ability to quench every fiery dart of Satan.

Wiles Ė Greek word (Methodeias) methods, the different means, plans, and schemes used to deceive, entrap and ruin the souls of men.

This word has a lot of different meanings I like the one that said used to deceive. There are so many people that use this and donít realize that they are. And then there are people that know that a deceiving even if it is wrong.

I am going to admit as a young teenager I was deceiving in a lot of ways. I knew what I was doing. I can not say I did not know that I was be deceiving because I would be lying. Now I am a different person I donít do that any more. Because it hurts others and my self. I learned my lesson when God told me to stop.

Ephesians 6:12
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against the powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

This is what were are not to wrestle against: FLESH and BLOOD. And this is what we are to wrestle against. RULERS OF THE DARKNESS OF THIS WORDL, SPIRITUAL WICKNEDESS IN HIGH PLACES, AND PRINCIPALTIES OF POWERS. The words that I just typed up are what the Bible says we are fighting against. So, next time your child makes you really angry remember it is not the child your fighting against it is that demon that is telling your child to do that.

Wrestle- Greek word (Pale).

Galatians 1:16
"To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood."

Here the scriptures is telling us not to fight against flesh and blood, but to fight against the evil spirits and evil powers.
As a Christian I have realized that it is not the person I am fight against but the evil spirit that is around that person. The devil is not a person and he will never bee a person. That is like demons they are not people. The only way they can be a person is when they are inside a person. That is what I know it as demon possessed person. And the only way the demon will come in is if you let him in. It can not come in with out an invitation.

1st Corinthians 15:50
"Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God; neither do corruption inherit incorruption."

Our flesh can not inherit the kingdom of God, but our spirit man can if she/he is truly right with God.
It is funny how so many Christians fight against each other. They donít want to think that is as spiritual fight. The strong holds are spiritual. These scriptures and others are sharing what to do and how to guard your family, yourself, your church, and so on from spiritual warfare. It is an on going fight. See, it dose not just go away. It will keep coming even if you quite church. There still is a spiritual warfare going on. So, just continue to serve God and do your best in what he says to do.

I want to go over with some rebels. There is four kinds of spirit rebels.

1. Greek-[archas] Principalities, chief rulers or beings of highest rank and order in Satanís kingdom.

Ephesians 1:21-23
"Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and very name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all."

Colossians 2:10
"And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power."

2. Greek [exousias] Authorities, those who derive their power from and excite the will of the chief rulers.

3. Greek-[komokratopas] world rulers of the darkness of this age, the spirit world-rulers.
Daniel 10:13-21
"But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb. And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength. For how can the servant of my lord talk with this my lord? For as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me. Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me. And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, ye, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me. Then said he, knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? And now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Gracie shall come. But I will show thee that which noted in the Scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince."

Colossians 1:16-18
"The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for defense of gospel. What then? Notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice."

4.Greek Ė[Pneumatika ponerias] spiritual wickedness, that of the wicked spirits of Satan in the heavenliness.

Here is some scriptures to look up on your spare time.
Ephesians 1:21
Romans 8:38-39

Colossians 2:10
"And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power."

Head here is a Greek word[kephale] the top, the superior, the husband of the wife, Christ as head of the church and God the father is designated as the head of Christ in his manifestation as man.

Principality here is a Greek word [arche] beginning.
Arche means a pass.

Christ is call the beginning because He is the efficient cause of the creation; the head because He is before all things and all things were created by Him and for him.

Arche also means extremity or outer most point.
