The smallest of all places known,
This Bethlehem would seem,
This dark and lonely night imparts,
The birthplace of our King.
While mortals slept in peaceful sleep,
That night so long ago,
The link was made for all mankind,
To reach to heaven’s throne.
This dreamy night would soon be known,
As none that’s came before,
Abiding still, Emmanuel,
Our Savior and our Lord.
This morning star that rises,
To shine upon his birth,
Brings solemn salutations,
To all who live on earth.
Where Adam failed before him,
Gave in to sin then shame.
This holy one of Israel,
Is born just to proclaim
God’s love is still unwavering,
This gift He freely gave.
The reason Christ was born on earth,
Was so man could be saved.
