The Word for Writers
The Coat of Many Colours
Gen. 37:1-3
Now Jacob dwelt in the land where his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan. This is the history of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers. And the lad was with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives; and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father.
Joseph reported to his father that his brothers where sinning in the tabernacle of meeting with the women who assembled at the door. They where sinning in Gods house before God laying with the women, Joseph kept the charge to God and went and told his father what his brothers had and where doing in Gods house, for this the Lord placed in Israel's heart to bless Joseph for not joining in the act of adultery and fornications with his brothers concerning the woman.
I Sam. 2:22-24
Now Eli was very old; and he heard everything his sons did to all Israel, and how they lay with the women who assembled at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. So he said to them, "Why do you do such things? For I hear of your evil dealings from all the people" No, my sons! For it is not a good report that I hear. You make the LORD'S people transgress. (NKJV)
Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
Israel did not love Joseph because he was his pick or his favorite over the others for natural reason, but in Joseph's concern for the sheep (the woman) in doing Gods Perfect Will, it showed the many colours that where hidden within Josephs heart, hence the "Coat of Many Colours" was a display of what Israel seen in the Spirit that was deeply hidden within his son Josephs heart. It was something that was different, special, separate from the others, it was something that made Joseph's demeanor "Stand Out" before the others and God wanted to reward him for his work even thought God knew that this very thing would cause division between them, between Spirit and Flesh, between living out his walk with God or pleasing men/woman. In this Joseph had made his choice to walk with God.
Gen. 37:4
And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him. And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dream: For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, you sheaves stood around about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and they brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.
Josephs first dream was God telling him that He was in fact going to use him and separate him for His Work. This was the outer court experience with Joseph. God through this dream to showed Joseph that he would be over all of them, that because of his heart and caring for God's Holiness to be in order in all places would allow him to be over and above the others to rule over them with Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding in Love.
The second dream proved to be more upsetting to them where in God showed the Sun and the Moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to him, The Sun and the Moon representing the Will of God and favor on Joseph's life, that God would yield to him His Glory to perform His Will before a Nation. The eleven stars, which represented the sons of Israel.
Bil'hah and Zilpah both were given, both were concubines to Israel.
Bil'hah means timid, bashful, handmaide to Rachel, Gen. 29:29 And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid. And concubine of Jacob, to whom she bore Dan and Naphtali.
Gen 30:3-8
And she said, Behold my made Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her. and she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her. And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son. and Rachel said, God hath judge me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan. And Bilhah Rachel's made conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son. And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali. Gen. 35:25 And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali.
Gen. 46:25
These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls where seven. ICh 7:13 The sons of Naphtali; Jahziel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shallum, the sons of Bilhah.
Zilpah meaning a trickling, a Syrian given by Laban to his daughter Leah as an attendant, Gen. 29:24, And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zipah his maid for an handmaid. And by Leah to Jacob as a concubine. She was the mother of Gad and Asher. Gen 30:9-13, When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zalpah her maid, a and gave her Jacob to wife. And Zilpah Leah's made bare Jacob a son. And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad. And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a second son. and Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed; and she called his name Asher.
Gen. 46:18, These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.
Joseph was so excited being the youngest of them all, he wanted to share with them what the Lord had given to him, it was innocence in him to trust all, proven guilty by them and in them as well as to their father Israel of whom God had not spoken to concerning the dreams that He had given to his son Joseph, Israel joined with his other sons rebuking Joseph before them as his brothers watched in envy.
Joseph's brothers departed from his company, and went off and hid themselves from him and Joseph look for them yet could not find them anywhere. Joseph seen a man and decided to inquire if this man had seen his brothers as he walk through the land.
Gen. 34:17-28
And the man said, They are departed hince; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan. And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him. And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams. And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him. And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again. And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they strip Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him; And they took him, and cast him into a pit; and the pit was empty, there was no water in it. And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt. And Judah said unto his brethren, what profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood? Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content. Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.
From the very beginning of time even in the Garden of Eden between the first Adam and his "Coat of Many Colours" (mantle), Satan has wanted God's favor over his life and did not care how he obtained it, he only remembered how he once stood in this Anointing, and desired to walk in it again.
Isa. 14
v
Some examples of the mantle being stolen from those who God employed to carry it. Also know that all of these where Called as Shepherds unto God and they all tended the sheep, or had some type of dealings with them on a daily basis.
1. Adam sold out to Satan for the company of Eve for the flesh spoke more than his spirit concerning her and concerning God's Will.
2. Cain Killed Able in a jealous rage because the favor of God was on his brothers life. Cain killed Able thinking to himself if I remove Able then I can walk in the Favor of God like he did and step into his mantle, "Coat Of Many Colours.
3. Jezebel went after Elijah for his mantle, coat of many colours again wanting to kill him for it.
4. Pharaoh killed all the first born male children trying to keep the mantle harnessed and held captive so that Jesus would not come.
5. Raamses, hated Moses and wanted to have the favor of his natural father as Moses did and was not his natural son, in this we see him chasing Moses for his spiritual mantle ("Coat of Many Colours"), after stealing the natural mantle from him to be named the King by his natural father through the Kings death.
6. Esau and Jacob, the selling of the mantle for a bowl of soup, hunger.
7. Judas and Jesus who was also sole into captivity because He would not fight in the natural as Judas wanted so in his eyes Jesus was useless to him.
With Moses God rapped him up in his "Coat of Many Colours" the Hebrew blanket that covered him. The Ark that floated down the Nile being Sanctified by God and Filled with the Spirit of God in Moses prior to him being lifted up and out of the waters by Pharaoh's Daughter. The Ark represented the entering into God's Holies of Holies, where God revealed and spoke unto Moses spirit at his very beginning, his assignment, the Charge if you will.
In all of their lives all had this in common as we also do that are Marked for Greatness in God with the "Coat of Many Colours".
There must be a death in the natural in order for a spiritual mantel to be passed over from supernatural into natural. If the mantle is stolen it then becomes a curse on that person's life that stole it instead of
"The Favor Of God" on their lives. The mantle will always find its way back to the Spiritual Owner that it was predestinate to be worn by. No matter how hard they try to take it from you, they cant remove the mark out of your head, they can lock you up, but it will not remove that mark, they can sell you into captivity, but it will not remove the mark, they can whip you, but it will not remove the mark, they can kill you, but it still will not remove the mark from out of your head, when God assigns you your "Coat of Many Colours" no one can put that coat on, no one can steal it, they cant even buy it, no one can take your place,
NO ONE!
God bless you to keep that which He gave to you, and just to you in Jesus name,
Amen, Amen, Amen
