Oh, Precious Child of God
I looked for you early this morning,
I wanted to see your face,
You kept your eyes turned away,
And still you did not seek My grace.
I waited in anticipation,
Hoping to hear you call,
I knew you had something to tell Me,
But you sat and said nothing at all.
I held out My hand to you gently,
I wanted to help you so much,
I wanted to hold you, to love you,
To bless you with one little touch.
You stumbled along, lost and lonely,
I followed you round all the day,
You would not let Me come near you,
And you did not take time to pray.
Oh, my child, I knew you were hurting,
I felt all your pain as you cried,
As you sat on your own in your sadness,
Trapped by your own stubborn pride.
So turn to me now, precious daughter,
Turn and confess all your sin,
Tell Me your cares and your worries,
Do not shut Me out, let Me in.
Yes, turn away from the darkness,
As you cry to Me, Oh Lord, why!
Do not cast your eyes down onto evil,
Look up, look up to the sky.
