Christmas Morning
Cold, wet and hungry,
out late at night.
Snow softly falling,
winters furry had a bite.
Christmas Eve was upon us,
children inside fast asleep.
Joy cometh in the morning,
the gifts they would reap.
I pondered all my blessings,
with my Lord by my side.
The riches the world offers,
it’s nothing but old pride.
As I walked to the park,
that is home for right now.
To lay my weary body,
that’s all my budget would allow.
As I wake in the morning,
I’m under a blanket of snow.
He tucked me in last night,
He knew it was going below zero.
I rolled to my knees,
this is where I start my day,
thanking God for keeping me,
and being the only way.
Their was a bag in the snow,
it had my name on the side.
A coat inside with directions,
Christmas dinner and a sleigh ride.
Warm, dry, and comfy,
celebrating Jesus with new friends.
The fireplace was toasty,
always being alert to who God sends.
