"I waited patiently for the Lord
and he inclined to me,
he heard my cry
he also brought me out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
and set my feet upon a rock
and established my steps,
he put a new song in my mouth." Psalm 40:1-3

You've decided to put your needs into God's hands and now you have come the point where you have to wait.
This is the point that determines whether you will finally get your heart's desire, the point at which your faith in God will constantly be
tested. Let me say it again. I said, you will be tested, no doubt about that, and if you decide to chicken out and find a short cut, if you decide to skip the wait, you might as well start unpacking your backpack now, forget the journey because believe me, you’ll reach the end with only ashes of what might have been. When you refuse to allow God to lead you to your goal, you will think you’re walking to the
finish line but all you’re doing is wandering.
The dictionary defines "wander" as,
“to walk around or to a place, often without any particular sense of purpose or direction”.
Of-course you know where you want to go, what you want to reach, but without God you’ll just be walking around in circles getting nowhere.

Take the children of Israel for example. God offered them constant help and direction from
day to day and what did they do? They let go of
God’s hand and started worshiping idols and that led to a journey that instead of taking just fourty days, it took a whole fourty years.

That’s exactly what happens when we decide along the broken road that we can do it on our own. We drop God’s hand and walk alone like stubborn children. We refuse the help of the only person who knows the road you’re travelling like the back of his hand.
The person whose hand we let go off, has the map, he has the compass, the oil lamp, the tent.
He alone knows when you’ll need the windbreaker, the umbrella, the sunglasses, because he knows the weather forecast of your life. He alone knows where you’ll need to stop and rest
and when to send manna from heaven.
Do you want o leave someone like that behind?

Don’t think doing it alone will spare you from the wind, the rain, the cold, the pain. If that’s what you think, you’ve already lost.
God says,

"When you pass through the
Waters,I will be with you
And through the rivers , they
Shall not overflow you
When you walk through the fire,
You shall not be burned
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
Isaiah 43:2

God says you will pass through the waters, you will pass through the rivers, you will pass through the fire, who are you to think you won’t, when the great God of the universe says you will?

There you have it. If you decide to pass through the waters, the rivers, the fire alone, you’re done for. You will be drowned, you will be burned and you
will be alone.
He promised you that if you decide to let him lead you, to guide you, to help you and if you decide to wait on the Lord, you will not be drowned, you will not be burned and you will certainly not be alone.

The choice is yours.

Make the right choice, take his hand, wait on the Lord.God is such a merciful God that when you take the short cut, he’ll relax,
he’ll let you wander off and wait for you to come back to him. But do you know where the problem is when you eventually decide you can't do it alone and let him show
you the way?

The problem is, God will start again where he left off. That’s the problem. That leads to a longer journey. Instead of taking only fourty
days, it might take fourty years.
Don’t decide to wander like the children of Israel around the wilderness.
Follow God’s timetable and you’ll get there on time…his perfect time.
Don’t delay your own arrival.I know it’s hard to lose control.

God wants you to leave that need, that wish, that dream, that project totally in his control or he'll not start working at all.
Don't worry, he's totally trustworthy.
You don't, however, just have to sit there bitting your nails wondering when he'll finally get you there.
Get out of that easy chair and work with him.
Follow his lead. But you have to trust him all the way.

Nobody says it's going to be easy...but for everything good, there's a price to pay.

That's the only way whatever you wish for, could have true worth.

To get a certificate you need to write a test, to get a degree you need to write an exam, to enjoy the summer you need to go through the winter, to see the dawn you need to pass through the night.

Do you have problems and need an answer, results from God, then you’re in the right place right now, because there can’t be a solution without a
problem, neither can there be glory without suffering.

Keep on keeping on “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of
God.” Hebrews 12:2

Which is to mean that there is joy and glory after the suffering. Even yours.

You as a Christian should also practice to trust God daily, in little things, so that your faith will be strengthened for when a huge need comes
along.

We sometimes and often forget that God wants to play a role in our whole lives and meet all our daily needs.
Think about it, it really makes sense.
how can we expect God to heal our cancer when we can't even trust him to cure our little headache? Small faith grows to big faith.

In order for God to meet your needs today, tomorrow in a big way, it's important that you
also trust him to meet your small daily needs, however small.

Like I said, he holds the timetable of your life in his hands.
Holding on to him, will hold you together and you’ll not fall apart. If your heart is breaking he’ll mend it again, if your body needs healing, he’ll renew your health, if it’s hope you need, then hope he’ll give. When you need a rock, he’ll be your mountain, when your soul is a
desert, he’ll be a fountain, he’ll be your anchor in life’s ocean, your shelter from trouble winds.
