I walked up the long concrete sidewalk past small houses that were well taken care of. As I kept walking with my head down, doubt clouded my mind. I am depressed and sad a lot because deep inside I feel that I have no purpose in life. I just had lost a job that I loved and there were difficulties in my marriage. A friend told me to go to 4344 Elm Street and ask the person who lives there for advice and reassurance.
I stopped and turned left to see a small white picket fence surrounding a small but well kept two story white house. In front of the porch that contained just a rocking chair was the most beautiful flower garden I had ever seen. An array of flowers hit my eyes but the biggest thrill were the red roses in front. I opened the gate of the white picket fence and walked in to see a gray haired gentleman. He was wearing a white shirt, white shorts and had a big straw hat on. I could sense he knew I was coming.
