Footprints

Life is filled with ups and downs, twists and turns. Things sometimes happen to us and we don’t know why. There are sometimes questions we wish we had answers to, questions that go unanswered anyway.
Some people go through life wiping tears from their eyes, trying to mend broken hearts. Others yet, have never seen the rain, the dark side of life, or so we think anyway.
Why does life seem so unfair? Why does it chasten some and pamper others?. Life is full of questions that sometimes only God can answer.
Some people may think life is unfair, I disagree. I personally believe that all we go through, each and every step, every bend in the road, every cloudy sky, every tear shed, every time we stumble, fall or break, sums up who we are. Just as does every ring of laughter, every tear of joy, heartfelt smile, ray of sunshine, dance in the rain or fulfilled dream. Every second we live, every moment is a footprintleading us to our individual destinies.
Everything happens for a reason and in its own perfect time.
The Bible says, there’s a time for everything. There’s a time to laugh and a time to cry. There’s a time for everything to happen in our individual lives.
The sunshine has to make way for the rain, the day has to step aside to allow the darkness to reign for a while.

I like everyone else, have gone through tough times but hey, looking back on my life so far, I don’t regret a moment, not one. All that has happened to me or for me, the rocks I’d had to climb, the oceans I had to swim and also the smiles that dazled my path, are all part of who I am today, tonight, this moment in time.
Those are the things that helped me grow.
Thanks to the route my life was destined to take, I have become a brave, mentally strong, forgiving and appreciative woman who knows where she’s coming from and where she’s going and won’t break during the tough times.

When one has gone through certain trials big or small, they tend to become somehow immune to them. If faced with the same trials a second time around, I’d be able to boldly look them in the eye without fear.

Anyway, what’s life without tough times? of what worth is actually a smile without a frown?
Where there’s day, there was night, where there’s making up, there was breaking up, where there’s light, there once was darkness.
There’s a price to pay for every good thing. When we see something in a shop that catches our eye and we just have to have it, how we cherish it depends on the amount we pay for it. In order to have that treasure to become ours, we have to give something in exchange. In this case we give away a part of our money. The more we pay for something, the more valuable it becomes to us.
In some situations we can’t pay with money so we pay with tears or a piece of our heart.
That’s why people who had had to go through the rain are able to embrace the sunshine with more joy, and people who have experienced pain don’t take moments of happiness for granted.

One needs to feel the pain to know what joy is. How can one know what’s sweet if they haven’t tasted the bitter somewhere along the line?

All that I’ve gone through has made my life rich, valuable and worth living.
If I were to be given another chance to choose which path to take,, I’d take the one I’ve already taken. I’d follow every footprint I’d left behind, for directions leading me straight to me.
