The Columbia Space Shuttle fell at its worst,
Pieces landed all over Texas fields,
It appears none of the seven lived.
What in the world is going on,
They say the equipment was at its best,
Nothing should have went wrong.
I think about the families in this situation,
They thought their parent and children,
Were on a vacation.
They thought they would soon come home.
Somehow things turned out for the worst,
It shook the surrounding areas,
What did you think?
I thought I had a rattling sink.
We went outside and looked around,
Next thing I knew,
People were saying “they saw things falling down.
What’s going on is the world coming to an end,
Oh Lord, please forgive us of our sins,
Immediately my thoughts started to roam,
I couldn’t see what was going on,
For people were calling me on the telephone,
Some thought it was Husane,
Others thought it was a noisy train,
I wonder who all stopped to pray,
Are did they just run around seeing,
What others had to say?
My heart goes out to the seven,
I pray they all go to heaven,
I must say it hurt us all,
And to God’s name we must call.
Many questions come to mind,
Does God want us to go to the moon?
Are we trying to see heaven to soon?
Why risk your life, for something so small?
Do we only worry about, money, fame,
Fortune and all?
All these questions and more come to mind.
As for answers I may never find.
Whatever happened that day,
My heart goes out, in a very special way.
