Take Me With You
TAKE ME WITH YOU
It was a young boy’s first day of school. As he slowly made his way to the bus stop, he said a short prayer. “Lord today is my first day of school. I am very scared. I am afraid that none there will like me. I am even more afraid of getting lost in that big school. Lord, please tell me how you can help me through this day.” The boy patiently waited for the Lord’s response.
Then in a soft and quiet voice, the Lord replied, “Take me with you.”
That same boy became a teenager. He was on his way to the hospital to have his tonsils removed. Before arriving, he spent some time praying. “Lord, today I am going to the hospital to have my tonsils removed. Both the doctor and my parents have tried to reassure me that it is only minor surgery and that everything is going to be just fine. I still cannot help but worry that something may go wrong. Lord, please tell me how I can be sure that everything is going to be OK. He anxiously waited for the Lord to answer.
Then once again in that very soft and quiet voice, the Lord replied with, “Take me with you.”
That teenage boy has now grown into a handsome young man. He is preparing to marry the girl of his dreams. Before leaving for the church, he said a short prayer. “Lord, today I am marrying the girl of my dreams. I love her dearly and want nothing more than to always give her the very best of me. Lord, please show me how throughout my marriage that I can be sure that I am always giving her the very best of me.”
Then without waiting very long, he heard the Lord’s soft and quiet voice once again reply.
“Take me with you.”
That handsome young man was married to the girl of his dreams for fifty years before the Lord called her home. As the man walked in the door after laying her to rest, he said a short prayer.
“Lord, throughout my life you have brought me through many things. that is why now as I face my life alone without my beloved wife, I know that I will get through it if I just simply take you with me.
Be courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified of them,
for the Lord your God is with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

I like this story. It is really neat. All the same guy, right? I would suggest that you add some breaks to make it easier to read. Maybe a break between each stage of life would be best. Thanks for posting :) Roz
