He was born an early baby
Had his tonsils out at nine
Enjoyed planting, tending, and reaping
Cared about his fellow human being.
He left us without warning
No time to say good-bye
Entered into that bright land
Prepared for those who love the Lord.
Now he’s walking in that city
Where streets are made of gold
Perhaps planting new vines for grapes
The place where he’ll never grow old.
Ed will be in our thoughts every day
Brother, son, father, and friend
Until it’s time to meet again
We will all miss him.
