THE CYCLE OF A BROKEN HOME
A broken home is a home where things are not just right. Things are not right because there is a very important thing absent in the home and that is God’s love.
Everyone in such a home is affected in a way and everyone seeks to find that missing thing in his/her life. They try out different ways to fill the missing gap. The parents could end up splitting up, while the children in the process of looking for that missing thing often end up misbehaving and messing up their lives too.
Most times, the children end up re-living their parents life in the process of running away from their past.
Since God’s love is what is missing in broken homes, it can be found only in God. If we surrender our lives to God, He’ll help fill the missing part of our lives, for it is by his love that we are not consumed and we are what we are.
Also, individuals from broken homes have to work on themselves. Though it is not very easy breaking away from your past, if you learn to depend on God, He’ll help you. You can also help yourself by finding ways to improve your knowledge and skill and also, reach out to people in need. Forgive your parents and if they sat there’s a curse in place, take yourself out of the equation and give yourself to God. Also, love others genuinely if that’s what you want in return.
Lastly, mix with people who accept you, love you and appreciate you just the way you are. Mix with people that can help you look beyond your past and encourage you to look into your future with hope through God’s eyes. And learn to do the same to people also.
So, no matter who you are, your past doesn’t matter, you can still be what you are destined to be, just put your trust in God and like my Dadie would say, “Be Happy, Be Relaxed”.
