You Shall not Take the Name of Lord Thy God In Vain
The King’s Name
Today is special, Mother Nature said to the Children of the Rainbow
You must listen carefully, for there is someone you need to know
We are going to learn of the King of Heaven and of earth
He is your Heavenly Father and He knew you before your birth
Now this great King, your Father, is very good and very kind
He made the whole earth and tells the sun when to shine
By His word, the wind blows and He makes the thunder roar
He has been King forever and will be King forever more
The only thing greater than his power is his love for each of you
Now once you know the King, there is one thing you really must do
For as good as he is, there is one thing that makes him really mad
That is when you use his name, which is God, to say something bad
Never use his name in a mean or nasty way
Only use His name to help, let’s just say….
Someone sneezes – Achoo.. Achoo
Wish them well by saying May God Bless You
Never use His name for a laugh or just as a joke
Always use his name to help or give a friend hope
If they are unhappy or just feeling blue
Tell them I will pray to God for you
Some people use God’s name as a curse word
And every time they have done it, God has heard
And in heaven He shakes his head ever so sadly
Because His beloved children behave so badly
Don’t cause our King to shake his head in shame
Only in goodness and love say his name
For this is right says our Lord, and of all kings he is the best
Do this that your life on earth may be happy and blessed
