There are so many unanswered questions
that the pillow holds every night
Those years of secret pains and hurts
often hidden and out of sight
Somehow, the past won't go away
It seems to always surface at night
if only someone to tell it to
and have answers to make it right
Silent tears did go up, to ask for help
to have a night of peaceful rest
and to have strength to make it through
O' pillow of tears, this my soul request
There are haunting memories I long to forget
and not to carry them to my bed
For I much rather to on with my life
and not to have them, twirling in my head
It seems no matter what one tries to do
they have of way of bringing unrest
Oh if only I could, lay them down
O' pillow of tears, this my soul request
But, there is one who holds the answer
to so many a silent tears
It is the one true God, so full of mercy
that will attend to every bad year
