At the cross my road began
With my parents at my side.
The road ahead I did not plan
The route was not mine to decide.
As I matured in faith and age
More and more the choice was mine.
The road I chose would be the gauge
Determining my life’s design.
Shying from my unproved judgement,
Needing more then parent's praise,
Jesus' voice came, sure and constant,
Guiding me through every phase.
Step by step this road I traveled
Not quite sure where it would end.
But my heart in peace could marvel –
Jesus was my constant friend.
Yes, at times the road’s been hilly.
Other times my path’s been smooth.
And now this choice that lies before me
Makes me, once more, test this truth.
Will I trust You to go with me?
Will You be there by my side?
I will take each step You show me
Trusting You will be my Guide.

Beautiful Poem Donna...What would we do without the Lord on ou side. We do not know what lies ahead, but indeed He does; and as long as we trust Him He will surely guide us.
The Lord bless you as you share His love.

Hi Donna,
I read your poem; and I loved every line. Donna, it's at the cross where jesus suffered for us.
It was at the cross where we began a new life in Jesus. Fantastic!
Keep up the good work.

Beautiful Donna - especially about the crossroads of your life literally being at the cross. I do agree with Violet about that third stanza though. The flow just catches slightly there. But other than that, it's really quite lovely. With love, Deb
I really like this poem, Donna - it tells some great truths. (Is there any way you could smooth the rhythm of St. 3, L.1 and fix the unnatural word order in St. 3 L.2 "Family and friends advice did give"?)
