John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Do you know GOD? Do you know JESUS?
JESUS said to the scribes, Pharisees, and Sadducees, “you know not who it is that you pray to” HE was not saying that they did not know they were praying to GOD, HE was saying while your external acts of worship and religious rights may astound and fool many, you do not have an intimate relationship with your FATHER in heaven, and you do not know WHO HE is in you and who you are in HIM. As a Christian, by grace we are saved, by grace we are allowed the privilege to enter into the presence of GOD almighty, by this same grace (the empowerment of GOD inside us) we are called to unbroken and intimate fellowship with CHRIST JESUS who dwells in our own bodies.
Are we as GODS elect seeking HIS face, HIS heart, HIS will, HIS ways and HIS presence? Or are we seeking the gifts that HE has promised, not knowing that all things have already been given, but we must ask in faith. The faith that GOD requires does not manifest itself by our listening to a pastor, by our reading many books, nor does it come by merely reading the WORD of GOD. Faith comes by hearing; this hearing comes as we actively seek GODS will, HIS ways, HIS presence, HIS heart, HIS wisdom, HIS revelation knowledge and HIS face.
We can not gain faith by any other means; we must as a child of GOD quit being so content with the ways of this world and truly with all our hearts seek HIS kingdom and HIS righteousness. HIS kingdom is walking in HIS presence, being lead by HIS SPIRIT in all things and being willing to place HIS ways, our relationship with HIM, and HIS glory as our number one priorities in life. HIS righteousness is walking in right standing with GOD and this is only made possible by the blood of JESUS, the same blood that has enabled each of us to pick up our cross and follow HIM, eagerly obeying HIS WORD and submitting to HIS authority. Temptations will come, weaknesses will show themselves, but as we walk in HIS SPIRIT we will be transformed into HIS likeness, turning our backs on the world and its ways. This is a growing process and we grow as we stay in HIS presence, our maturity bears HIS fruits as we recognize and become more and more acquainted with HIS voice by walking in the unbroken fellowship that has been so graciously and freely given to all who will dare believe (trust in and rely upon).
We can not look to a man and say help me know, we can only say LORD GOD help me in my unbelief, help me in my lack of faith, my lack of trusting YOU and transform me into who it is YOU have called and ordained me to be. Yes men and women of GOD can be used to assist us in our pursuits, but they can not take away our personal responsibility of our seeking to build a more intimate relationship with GOD. Nor can another person become acquainted with GODS ways in our lives, we are called as individuals to seek and find, we are called to be more and more like JESUS everyday of our lives. We will not reach perfection in this lifetime, we will always need JESUS, and this is why JESUS said we can do nothing without HIM.
Yes this requires a willingness to accept change, in our attitudes, in our conduct, and in all areas of our lives. Yet it is not us producing change it is the manifestation of CHRIST in us, the guidance of HIS SPIRIT in all things and our eagerness to please our GOD whom we love.
We can not seek the gift; we must seek the gift giver who is GOD ALMIGHTY, the creator of all things who has personally invited each of us to come and fellowship with HIM.
Blessings, provisions, love, faith, gifts, abundance, and so much more is nothing more than the results of our constant fellowship with HIM and in HIM, a result of our actively seeking HIS face and will in our lives. Acts of religion and tradition will not draw us toward GOD. It is required of each of us, our being humble to accept HIM as our LORD and KING not just as our SAVIOR, realizing that all things (gifts, blessings, provisions, faith, trust, love, etc..) is for HIS glory and not our own.
I pray that each of us be willing to place seeking GOD and HIS presence as our number one goal in life. That we may seek the manifested presence of GOD almighty in our lives, in our thoughts and in our hearts. That all that we have and all we become will be for HIS glory and purposes for the rest of our days in this temporary life, that for all eternity we may confess we know our heavenly FATHER, we know our redeemer, and we know HIS SPIRIT. May GOD bless each of us in our journey to HIS heart and mind.
