How's this for a bumper sticker: "Tithe if you love Jesus -- anyone can
honk."
We are starting a new week. What are your plans and expectations? Do
you look forward to its challenges with a positive outlook or are you
more apprehensive with a ho-hum "what happens, happens" attitude?
If we approach this week with a positive representative of Christ
attitude, we'll have a lot better chance for a successful week. If we
don't expect much, we probably won't get any more than we expect,
because positive things happen to people who positively make things
happen.
I keep saying it, but a major tool in overcoming any disappointment is
the application of three basic tenets: 1) Attitude, 2) Attitude and 3)
Attitude. You can try it on your own, but a wise person will call on the
wisdom of God to develop an attitudinal change. So, what is your
plan regarding attitude as you start this week -- "Gung-ho" or
"Gung-lo?" It's your decision.
Learn from Isaiah's words in 3:10 (niv), "Tell the righteous it will be
well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds." You will
only get out of this week what you put into it. Go for it -- enjoy the
fruit of your deeds.
