A Child's Poem of Creation

The Bible tells how Your mighty hand
Created all life in both sea and land.
Stars across the sky You've sprinkled.
They look like diamonds as they twinkle!

I see Your power as the lightning flashes.
I hear Your voice when the thunder crashes!
Your gentle rains make the flowers grow.
And they dance in the meadow when You make the winds blow.

In the brightest of greens You have clothed the trees.
Their branches make homes for the birds and bees.
Trees in the forest their branches raise,
While birds of the air sing songs of praise!

Forest animals dwell on the mountains steep,
While porpoise and whales swim the oceans deep.
Bubbling brooks teem with fish galore
As they dance their way to the ocean's shore.

Your colorful rainbow in the heavens above
Reminds me of Your Everlasting Love!
Beauty so diverse Your Glory proclaims!
But it was man so honored to call You by Name.

Honor and glory I give to Thee.
I stand in wonder that You made even me!!
Amen

This was written for very young children in Vacation Bible School one year when "God is Our Creator" was the theme.

Linda, a lovely poem. I could almost hear a melody while I read it. I am sure the children enjoyed hearing and repeating this poem. It gives an all-around picture of God's wonderful creation.

Linda, This is Just beautiful!! I always respect with awe, those ceations of God's design. I was thinking about that very thing eariler as I looking out my door, what beautiful day... the blue sky speckled with soft white clouds, with colored leaves floating about in the gentle Autumn breeze. The beauty and mystery of His work, is beyond man's understanding. And then I come sit down at the computer and yours is the first poem I read. God has his ways of confirming things for us, if we open out hearts and mind to him. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem. Bessie
