Title: "American Dream"
Rating: 9.65(Scale 1-10)

Being an old time rock n' roller mixing hip-hop with rock is like adding water to your car's gas tank. It just doesn't work.
Well, after hearing that exact mixture on this new release from Lyrycyst I might have to rethink that philosophy.
On this release he manages to mix his aggressive style of rap with rock elements to create a sound that works out very nicely.
What really jumps to the forefront though is the lyrics. They deal with tough real life issues like; abortion, hatred, lust, poverty and
what the American Dream really means these days.
These songs aren't just written lyrics they're little bits and pieces of Lyrycyst life.
One example of this can be found in, "What If I," a song that deals with what would have happened if his own mother who became pregnant at the young age of 15 had decided to aborted him.
It doesn't get any more real then that.
The title song, "American Dream" also caught my attention.
It deals with what the 'American Dream' has really come to mean these days. Negative things like greed, pornography, and lust.
The need for us to stand up and fight to get it back to the more positive things that it once meant.
Lyrycyst is a Christian and doesn't try hiding that fact in his music.
If you're already a fan of hip-hop music or want to hear a good example of how it can sound when done right then this CD is for you.
