Whispered Hopes

I wrote this poem to deal with all the emotions I was feeling after my husband ever so gently (wink, wink) pushed me into posting things on this website. Perhaps you've experienced similar emotions-laying bare before unseen faces what you've held so close to your own heart, not knowing how they will be received or what fruit might come from your labors. God never calls us to be comfortable, and many unimagined blessings can spring forth from vulnerability. So, enjoy, and please, be nice. =)

Whispered Hopes

Hidden thoughts and whispered hopes,
Some written in my tears;

Now it’s as if a veil’s been torn,
Revealing all my fears.

These tiny treasures shared between
My precious Lord and me,
Once whispered secrets now aloud,
Blessed vulnerability.

The unseen depths within my heart
Now lay completely bare.

What will become of whispered hopes
Now breathed aloud to share?

I pray Your glory will be seen
In every fragile word;
That somehow through these whispered hopes
Your Message will be heard.

I seek no glory of my own,
‘Tis true, I seek no other—
Yet pray that many come to know
My Friend closer than a brother.

Love that exceeds all imaginings,
He is the richest fare.
Taste now of these small, whispered hopes,
And find Him waiting there.
