Sometimes pursuing You
Is like chasing the horizon;
Always before me,
Always out of my reach;
And like the horizon
I often forget to look for You;
But You’re there,
And You define the boundaries of my world;
In the forgetting, I find myself
Redefining things already set;
I lose my place, my bearing,
Until I look to the horizon;
I find then, when I return my eyes to it,
And walk toward it;
I lose sight of that which may distract me;
My path is set, my steps are sure and firm,
And I find my way;
One day, I’ll reach the horizon;
Or rather, the Horizon will reach out to me...
