We are in the eleventh hour as far as election time goes. Thank goodness!
For one thing, I am tired of all the negative campaign ads. To me, the more one candidate bashes the other, I more skeptical I am of the BASHER. If one truly has a legitimate plan for this country, he or she would not waste campaign money telling us how bad the opponent is. I want to decide for myself who is the best candidate and the only way I can do that is to know what each one has in mind for us.
Frankly, I do not think one party is better or more "upstanding" than the other. Being an Independent, I feel that those who vote party lines, no matter what, are doing themselves a disservice if they don't check out each candidate on an individual basis.
I think there should be a moratorium on smear campaings and candidates should not be allowed to take contributions from various groups. Seems the way it is NOW, the man or woman with the most money to spend on ads is most likely to emerge victorious. Both parties have good and not so good candidates.
One thing that frosts my cookies is the "he voted with Bush..." it is time for a change...
and then they leave us dangling. Okay! What change? Tell us EXACTLY what your platform is. If I don't get an intelligent reply, then the candidate is downright insulting
I think too much of our welfare is put into our representatives. If the government wants to know how "we the people" feel, then put it out there in the voting booths.
