Waiting on God. How scary is that? And are we really waiting on God? Or is God waiting on us? Is it really a matter of God’s timing? Or are we blocking our own progress by not doing what God told us to do in the first place?
The first thing to do when walking through this type of confusion is to go to the Source. Go to God and ask Him if the problem lies with His timing or you.
Then listen for His answer. God doesn’t always answer when you pray. Sometimes He waits until you are doing something mundane, such as washing your hair, brushing your teeth or doing the dishes. Keep your ears peeled for His voice.
If He tells you to do something, do it! If He shows you an area to work on, ask Him to help you. Make it your project together.
But if it is a timing problem, you will have to wait patiently for God to work things out. None of us likes to wait in lines, for the popcorn to pop or in traffic jams.
People think that being patient means to sit around doing nothing, but patience means to be consistently consistent in spite of what you see happening around you.
It means continuing to confess the Word of God over your situation when your circumstances seem to be getting worse. It is praying when it doesn’t seem like your prayers are getting past the ceiling. It is walking in love, allowing God’s love flow through you, when people are rude to you. It is being consistently consistent no matter what.
It is constant consistency that wins the race. You can be victorious. You can win the race if you remain consistently consistent. And when everyone else becomes tired and drops out, you will steadily press on to the finish line and become the champion God created you to be.
