A Gift Divine
A Gift Divine
There’s none who seeks God, no, not one;
And yet, for the glory of the Son
The Father sent Him here to earth,
To take my shame and become my worth.
Now I seek God, by His grace,
Each day longing to see His face,
As I kneel before His throne,
By the blood of Christ alone.
All I have, a gift divine,
I have nothing truly mine.
Everything is His, you see,
Even this faith, He gave to me.
I know not why this life He chose;
Some things only heaven knows.
But this I know, my doubts are none,
He chose me to glorify His Son.
This life I live, it is not mine,
No, my Father, my life is Thine.
You brought me from darkness to glorious light
By Your power and the strength of Your might.
Oh, these thoughts—too much for me!
And yet, they are my hope from Thee.
No longer must I live in fear;
Once far off, You’ve brought me near.
Dear Savior, what a price You paid
For my life—this mess I’ve made.
There you stood at heaven’s gate,
You pulled me in and sealed my fate.
Now You are my Lord and Friend—
You, the Beginning and the End.
Nothing can separate Your love from me,
I’m sealed—for all eternity!
The Holy Spirit is my Guide,
He keeps me safely by Your side,
Reveals to me the depths of God
Hidden in Your Holy Word.
The Helper comes, reveals to me
Mysteries deeper than the sea.
He is Your Breath and gave me life,
He brings Your peace in times of strife.
Praise You! Blessed Three in One—
Father, Spirit, and the Son.
Thank You for this gift divine—
A faith that isn’t really mine.
