There has never been a more serious hour. Who could think of a better time.
Sin runs free and rampade through our country, so many
people are in direct disobedence with Gods word. I know what your
thinking and it is not just the un-believer but us right here in the
church. Drugs and alcohol have become more acessabile and more
social accepted. How can we accept the systematic destruction of an
individuals life due to excess. Our mothers and daughters wear less
clothes and more make-up. Why, for what attention, trust me it is not
the kind of attention we want to draw. While it is not a sin to dress
a certin way or wear a certain amount of make-up it surely aids in the
sin of lust commited by so many. Our fathers have stoped hugging
our sons and mothers asre to busy these days to notice. What are we
to do? Well like life it starts with a seed, brothers and sisters I
encourage you to plant seed that will bear the fruits of the spirit. In
Galatians 6:8 Paul says "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the
flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the
spirit reap life everlasting." The seed is sown through our consious
mind. This is why Paul says to be transformed of the mind. Romans
12:2 " And be not conformed to this world; be ye trasformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God." So we see in order to plant the
incourruptable seed, we must transform our minds, we must focus on
God and leave the world behind. Okay, so so you say good I know
how to plant the good seeds, but what about the weeds already in my
garden, will they not choke my good plants? Absolutely, and we have
to pull them up at the root. Some examples of these weeds are:
WORKS OF THE FLESH DEFINED
Adultery (Gr. Moicheia) - Unlawful sexual relations between men and women, single or married; a married person always being involved, single with married, married with another individual's spouse, etc.
Fornication (Gr. Porneia) - This word includes the sin of adultery as well as all other manner of unlawful sexual relations.
Uncleanness (Gr. Akatharsia) - Referring to extensive unlawful sexual practices, homosexuality, lesbianism, pederasty and bestiality.
Lasciviousness (Gr. Aselgeia) - Lasciviousness is promoting or partaking in that which tends to produce lewd emotions. Anything tending to foster sex sin and lust. Many worldly pleasures today fall into this category.
Idolatry (Gr. Eidololatreia) - Image worship or anything on which affections are passionately set. Extravagant admiration of an object with the heart.
Witchcraft (Gr. Pharmakeia) - The practice of dealing with evil spirits for exorcising evil spirits or casting spells upon one by means of drugs and/or potions of various kinds used to inflict evil, pain, sickness, hatred, suffering and death.
Hatred (Gr. Echthra) - Bitter dislike, abhorrence, malice or ill-will against anyone. A tendency to hold grudges or be vengefully angry at someone.
Variance (Gr. Eris) - Dissensions, discord, quarrelling, debating and disputes.
Emulation (Gr. Zelos) - The striving to excel at the expense of another. Seeking to surpass or outdo others in uncurbed rivalry in religion, business, society and other fields of endeavor.
Wrath (Gr. Thumos) - Fierce indignation, raging, determined and lasting anger.
Strife (Gr. Eritheia) - Disputations and strife about words, angry contentions, contests for superiority or advantage. A strenuous endeavor to equal or pay back the wrongs done to one.
Seditions (Gr. Dichostsis) - Parties and factions, popular disorder, stirring up of strife in religion, government, home or any other place.
Heresies (Gr. Hairesis) - A shooting off. I have to say that is not already completly obvious. Then in Chpt 5:5 the woes are pronounced. "And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard, I will take away it's hedge, and it shall be eaten and burned up; I will break down it's wall and it will be trodden down by it's enemys." These are the results of the nation sins and living in disobedience. But this is only a warning, thank God for his patience with us sinners.
This is the time for the revival, this is the time for the rebirth, this is the time for the resurrection. The king Uzziah has died and Isaiah has a vision of the Lord in all of his Holyness. Isaiah fell under the conviction of God "Say, woe is me! For I am undone and ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips; and I dwell in the midst of people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Lord of Hosts."Isaiah 6:5 What Isaiah is experiancing here is the awesome power of the loving fear of God just by a vision and he begins to repent but not just for himself but for us all. It should be this loving fear of God that should always lead us to revival.
The death of he King Uzziah is significate here because Isaiah looked to him for everything and when he passed thats when Isaiah then began to look to God. Do you think that the Kings death was coinsidental? There is a new awareness to the character of God. So what is God like?
He is all powerful.... omnipotent
He is all knowing.... omniscient
He is everywhere.... omnipresent
He is eternal
Isaiah had to learn as we do that God is holy."Moses take off your shoes you are standing on holy ground." Exodus 3:5 God has not changed Rev. 4:8.
So finally in Isaiah 6:8 The Lord asks, "whom shall I send ?" and Isaiah said send me. Look at this god had not yet told him for what or where he was to go but Isaiah was willing never the less.
Revival produces soul winners and people who care. Are you willing to go where ever the Lord sends you?
The Lords question still sounds. What will be you answer ? When your heart is right you will be ready to serve......
