When I read about stories of old
About battles both bloody and bold
I begin to draw pictures instead
Of the words that are heard in my head.
These pictures depict mighty men
Upon huge sweated horses and then
I see faces of women and young ones
show the terrors passed from father to sons.
Other stories show people the way
God wants us to live every day.
The battles we fought long ago
Were done with God's blessing to show
Each person who hears of God's plan
Sees their name written on Jesus' hand
And then, other sotires I read
Tell of sinful dishonor and greed
Refusing to hear and obey
The savior when He came to say
That loving your neighbor is good
And sharing God's promise we should
On the very next turn of the page
Is a story of a man of great age
And if you think that story is great
A woman gives birth at a late date
Another one it has been said
Sees a man that's been raised from the dead.
From miracles to birthrights and sand
They tell of a promise so grand
Each chapter and verse tells a story
Of God's perfection and promise of Glory.
