Just before I take my last breath,
I know my life will pass before my eyes
and it will not matter how many
material possessions I had;
nor will it matter how
famous I was.
In that split second of time,
between my last breath and eternity,
all that will count in the final analysis
is the happiness I gave to others,
the times I made life better for someone else
and the number of times I did that without expecting favors in return.
So, if I perform one selfless act of kindness,
no matter how small,
each day I know I will take my last breath
with peace of mind..
