I imagined that I sat one night, the dark told me it was night, and watched a candle flame be lit, and cast its warming light.
But then a breeze gently blew, and the candle flame did dance, and I was so afraid that it would go out, it seemed that was a very good chance.
Then an unseen hand placed a glass shade around the candle there, and the flame steadied up despite the breeze, it was protected with invisible care.
It reminded me so of the flame of my candle, my life-flame buffeted by the winds that blew, and I lived in fear that the flame would go out, protecting it was something I could not do.
But somehow Jesus heard that plea so quiet, but enough for Him to hear, and suddenly I felt him on all sides, His presence was very near.
He placed His love around all sides, His tender mercy enveloped me, and that changed my world forever in that moment, Under His protection, I was set free.
What I did not know til much, much later, was that to my life's candle He had added a wick, and though it took years til He sent me you, when we met, that second flame was lit.
Now our two flames burn bright in one candle, surrounded by God's loving care, and the light we cast shines bright all around, the light of love is always there.
Who could have known that one silent plea would bring such riches that I now know, and the treasure of love would be given to me, for you set my heart aglow.
God brought us together to be as one, I'm so grateful for the life He gave me anew, and most of all, my heart dances to know, Each day I can fill up showing how much I love you!
