A Letter Of Thanks

Dear Lord,

I rose this morning, opened my eyes
saw the blue you painted
across Your heavenly skies.

The woods were awashed with
pale green leaves, those Spring
creates with apparent ease.

High up in the Dogwood, I saw
the red bird sing, my Lord, only
You know what joy that brings.

I looked into my husband’s eyes,
and saw love’s light, after these
years of grey, what an amazing sight.

I hadn’t seen to clearly my baby
grandson’s face but he is now
a picture that can not be erased.

I’ve seen things Lord the last five years
through darkening haze, now I see again,
I am amazed.

I don’t remember Daffodils as yellow
as the sun, raindrops as big as these
that fall one by one.

Or night skies with purple clouds
and crimsom display, I don’t recall
relishing each and every day.

Perhaps that was Your plan Dear Lord,
so I would come to see the beauty of Your
presious world, this gift You gave to me.

And You bestowed another gift as I stumbled
in the dark, the ability to see mankind ~
through the eyes of my heart.

So Lord if I’ve neglected to thank you,
please forgive, for You’ll have
my deepest gratitude as long as I live.

Sincerely in Christ,
Linda L. Creech
