Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. (Mark 13:33 - KJV)
We are living in the last days of the last days. So many events point to the soon return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
When that hour comes no man knows. Yet the air is electric with the fulfillment of scripture daily. We hear of wars and rumors of wars. We are witnessing the disintegration of the foundational truths of Biblical doctrine and many are leaving the faith to have their ears tickled. There is no shortage of hirelings willing and waiting to fill their theaters called churches with the goats they strive to amuse. The foundations for the apostate church are being laid. The carpet is being rolled out to usher in the one world religion known as the “Whore of Babylon”.
We are witnessing earthquakes in diverse places as well as weird weather all over the planet.
The headlines are filled with the news of the perilous times we live in. Mankind is consumed with self and the news bares witness to this on a daily basis.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 3:2-5 - KJV)
We are told to be watchful, that when these things become apparent that the generation that witnesses them will see the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This brings me to the point of this article. These events are happening in our life time.
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. (Matthew 24:33-34KJV)
Folks this is of eternal importance. We no longer have the luxury of thinking that someone else will carry the message. It is up to you and me and every other Bible believing, born again Christian; the remnant.
Our churches are being overrun with a false cotton candy version of the true Gospel. It has no substance. There is no life in it, yet it is taking over churches everywhere. You can give it whatever label you choose, sinner sensitive, emerging, purpose driven, new age; whatever you call it they are all equally empty of the power of the true Gospel which saves the soul from eternal damnation in hell.
People are perishing in their sin every second of every day. The commission we are given by Jesus Christ was to take the true Gospel into the all the world. The rest of our works will pail in comparison to this, and much of what we do is wood, hay and stubble that will burn in an instant.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15 - KJV)
If we feed someone and neglect sharing the truth about their sinful condition and the only answer to it, then all we have accomplished is filling the belly of a person bound for hell for all eternity.
If we sooth their conscience while trying to heal their problem or illness and neglect sharing the truth about their sinful condition and the only answer to it, then all we have done is healed the temporal problem or illness of a person bound for hell for all eternity.
If we convince others that creeds no longer matter but deeds do, and neglect sharing the truth about their sinful condition and the only answer to it, then all we have done is create a diligent worker bound for hell for all eternity.
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Matthew 5:29-30 - KJV)
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26- KJV)
The Word of God is quite clear on what is and is not eternally important. Though we cannot know the exact day or hour of Jesus’ return for his church, we can know the season. The season is upon us. Are you ready? Is your neighbor or loved one ready?
You might ask those around you; “Are you 50, 75 or 100% sure you will spend eternity in heaven”? You might be surprised at their answer.
It is not enough to be 50% sure or 75% sure. It is not enough to be 99.9% sure. You must be 100% sure that you are bound for heaven otherwise you are trusting in something other than the Lord Jesus Christ and His all sufficient payment for our sins through His own shed blood on the Cross at Calvary.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6 - KJV)
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 - KJV)
The Bible tells us that we can be 100% sure that we are bound for heaven. This is something that you can and should share with all those who God leads into your life. If we are born again we are given the command to share this with others. Don’t let the day slip by and another perish for lack of knowledge.
A lady in our church recently told the story about a little girl who told her that in her church she had never heard the Gospel taught. The little girl attends a very large church in our area.
There is something seriously gone awry when a Pastor does not see fit to teach and preach the whole counsel of God. But this is becoming the normal way of business rather than the exception.
In the name of diversity and all inclusiveness we have allowed the Gospel to be pushed out of the churches and the world’s ways and philosophy’s to take its place. It is now considered unloving to expose error. It is now considered passé to be bold and share the true Gospel.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:14-17 - KJV)
Wouldn’t you like to know or be confident in sharing with your neighbor or loved one that you or they can know 100% without a shadow of a doubt that your eternal home will be in Heaven with God.
We are all sinners in need of salvation. There is no one righteous. The wages of sin are death. People are dieing in their sins because of this unwillingness to share the whole Gospel.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
(Romans 3:23 - KJV)
The good news, the Gospel is that we can know with out a doubt that we are saved by grace through faith.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:13 – KJV)
If you have genuinely repented of your sins and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ then you can have that full assurance that your place in heaven for all eternity is secure.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:12 – 13 – KJV)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (Romans 10:9 - 11 – KJV)
He does the keeping after we are saved - It is not up to us.
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. (Jude 1:24 - 25 – KJV)
Our time is short and we need to earnestly contend for the faith. We must share the Gospel in love which means being truthful to all. We cannot gloss over sin; we cannot accept the strange fire of the world’s ways into our churches. We must stay the course, run the race and finish well.
I leave you with these words from Paul …
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. (Acts 20:24-27 - KJV)
I want to write a special thank you to our Pastor who preaches all the counsel of God without compromise. Thank you Pastor Beatty, your service and sacrifice does not go unnoticed!
