Think It Not Strange!
It happens a lot through the years of one's life,
Especially during prolonged periods of doubt, stress, or strife,
Times of feeling neglected, rejected, or abandoned by God,
While remembering earlier days of His favor, but now? - how odd!
That His presence has lifted, and like an eagle, taken flight,
Leaving us earthbound creatures alone, amidst sin's powerful night,
Wondering why all this has happened, after He's promised so much,
Of His blessing, high purpose, continual guidance and such?
But wait, these also happened, to more faithful servants than we,
Remember Job, Abraham, and Joseph, to just name three,
Job was blameless, feared God, and had integrity,
Abraham was called "Friend of God", and Joseph had no enmity.
Still, even they were tried, and tested as by fire,
To bring forth character pure as gold... that was God's desire,
Not only for them, but for us all, beloved childen of His,
That our faith might bring praise and glory to Jesus...that's why He’s allowed all of this!
