Grand are we in what we perceive
To be the sum of all reality
But come now, I must disagree
With such a blatantly bland philosophy
There are many things more grand than you and me
Many things that often go and we never see
We get so lost in the things we see today
Never thinking of tomorrow or come that what may
Like children with and throughout life we play
Making ourselves equal with God
Then our incorrigible ignorance do we applaud
Encouraging the next generation with a smile and nod
To continue this farce is like walking on sand
And we wonder why our way of life has become so bland
Perhaps because we no longer hold to God’s unchanging hand
Thoughts such as these constantly fill my head
I am amazed at the world’s calamity and dread
Simply trust in God, my thought, enough said
David, I love your style. These "thoughts" were all food for my thoughts, with this stanza in particular "Making ourselves equal with God
Then our incorrigible ignorance do we applaud
Encouraging the next generation with a smile and nod" really making an impact. Thank you for sharing your "thoughts" with us. I really appreciated it. With love, Deb
