A PRAYER FOR FREEDOM
Lord help me not to lack in love
And lead me Lord to forgive those
Who provoke me to loathe.
Let me not hesitate to release my soul
And learn to live
Free from the lethal load
That can hold me so captive.
Loosen my limbs
From those locks within
Lest it lead me to lash out
And lament this soul youíve lent.
Let me not lack your lamp
That lights this black and darkened land I live in.
I look to listen
The lessons youíve taught
Of my liberty youíve bought
Your words Iíve sought to lift me up
To where I ought to be.

Aah, freedom. One of our deepest desires. To be free in Jesus is free indeed. As you stated, and it is right to the point, we shackle ourselves and so we are struggling to truly free ourselves from our own darkness. The land we live in, so dark, is a land of our own making. Only the light of Christ in us can cast out darkness....Great job. I like the conciseness of it as well.
