“Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, ‘After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my Lord being old also?’ And the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old? Is there anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” Genesis 18:12-14
We know Abraham and Sarah were promised a child; we know they waited over 20 years for the promise; we know that when they finally received the promise; when they finally gave birth to their son, Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 years old. After Sarah had waited so long for the promise, and considered the ages of her husband and herself, she had to laugh. ‘Are you kidding? At this age?’
It may seem like it ain’t, but it is!
Don’t laugh! If God said it, then it is so. Have you been waiting and waiting and waiting for something or someone? Guess what? Even though it looks like it is taking forever for it to come; even though it seems like the circumstances are not favorable; although it appears that at this point it is impossible; and even if it seems that God has not heard your cry….. remember this “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
I John 5:14-15 NKJV
It may seem like it ain’t, but it is!
Have you asked God something that lines up with His Word? Has God promised you something and you are wondering when and how? It may seem like it ain’t, but it is!!
Remember Joseph. He was given a dream at the age of seventeen, but before it came to pass he was thrown in a pit, sold into slavery, lied on, put in prison, and forgotten about! It seemed like it wasn’t, but it was!! And sometimes for us, it looks the total opposite of what we are praying for, but remember, God does not think as we think and His ways are not our ways. When God does it, everybody knows God did it!!
So whatever you are believing for; whatever you have been praying for; the unsaved loved one; the spouse you are waiting for; the financial breakthrough; the new business; the new ministry; the new job; the healing; the deliverance; the baby; the peace; the completion of a project; the end of a situation…whatever it may be, don’t give up; don’t give in; don’t back up; don’t back down; don’t look back; don’t turn around. Just keep believing, because, ‘IT MAY SEEM LIKE IT AIN’T, BUT IT IS!
