"No man can serve two masters..."
Only one will he honor and love.
So whom will ye serve with your whole heart...
Worldly mammon or God from above?
Take no thought, therefore, for thy living...
What to wear, what to drink, what to eat.
For thy body is more than fine raiment
And thy life is much more than meat.
Fear not, therefore, little children.
Behold the fowls of the air!
They sow not, they reap not, they store not,
Yet they're kept in thy Father's good care.
Anxious thoughts cannot add to thy stature.
Fret not, have faith now and pray!
For the Father who feeds all the sparrows
Thinks ye are much better than they.
And why take ye thought for raiment?
Consider the lilies so fair.
They grow without toil or spinning
Yet no kingly robes can compare.
If God clothes the grass of the meadow
Which is destined for ovens and flame,
How much more He'll provide thee with raiment,
O ye children who trust in His Name!
Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven
And thy God who is righteous and true.
Learn the lesson of sparrows and lilies...
Thy God will provide all for you!
This poem is based on Matthew 6:24-33
