Inspired by:
The mission statement of Jesus: “ ... to seek and to save that which was lost.”
The works of Gordon MacDonald: ‘The Life God Blesses -- Weathering the Storms of Life That Threaten the Soul’
The works of Samuel Shoemaker: “I’d rather be a doorkeeper ...”
Let it be unto me, God Almighty,
that mine instrument sound loud and clear,
a trumpet call for those who cannot see,
“All ye who are bound by fear,
come. Come all ye blind. Draw near.
Come, walk down Mercy’s path, away from wrath.
Receive thy sight and know ye the Lord.
Yea, receive ye all that the Master hath.
Know by Whom thou art adored.
Come, spread wide thy wings to soar.”
A lighthouse make of me that I might see
those ships tossed by high tides of sorrow,
those lost in open seas of misery.
Speak, blessed Light of my soul,
“Joy cometh on the morrow.”
Let it be more than chance my joyful dance
is seen by those who cannot yet hear,
a graceful dance many angels enhance,
that would bid the deaf, “Draw near.
Thy Healer shall touch thine ear.”
Dear Joyce,
I cannot tell you how beautiful I think this poem is! I love its flow, its form and its message... everything about it. Thanks for sharing this lovely verse. Bless you, Linda
Treava...THIS IS A MASTERPIECE in every way and from every perspective. Your writing is superb, your knowledge of God's love and His Word just flows throughout your verse, and your faith shines brilliantly for all to see! You wrote: "Let it be unto me, God Almighty,
that mine ink overflow love and grace, that it should bless those whom Ye will to see the works of one in the race to see Thy beautiful face." Treava, you do all that...and much more! Blessings and love, Peggy
