Eagerly I logged onto my favorite site, anticipating a new word. Instead I read “no challenge this week – no new topic.” I remember now that we just completed our tenth word, so it’s time for a break. As usual, I didn’t figure out the theme until it was posted. Thinking back to the words, I now have the vision to recognize the great theme. During work, I usually find myself thinking of each word, deciding how to use it, and letting it speak to my soul. Sometimes an article just flows like a river onto my paper, and other times I carry the word like a cross – with no article. Sometimes a melody comes to me, and the words walk onto the paper, like ants marching to a picnic. At times, I become discouraged, when suddenly in my thought garden, an idea blooms. Even in the “valley of no ideas,” God can bring an article to light.
So for this quarter’s topic of Hymns, I thank God for the staff, founders, judges, and moderators of Faithwriters. Each person who writes has words to say, a story to tell, a rhyme or free prose, or a testimony. Some are true and some are fiction, some are humorous and some are thought-provoking. Each one is important, each one is special. We must keep writing and preserving in our quest and walk with Christ. Thanks to all for having a part in Faithwriters – it is a blessing that we have this site to post, read, learn, and make friends.
